It was a beautiful day for Nicole's birthday. Our first activity was to go downtown to an Asian Art museum to see various performances including a dragon dance parade in celebration of the Chinese New Year. Nicole invited three of her best friends to go. They all seemed to enjoy seeing the various costumes, seeing the art work and experiencing some traditional Chinese music and watch martial arts presentations.
After returning from downtown, I printed pictures of our
experience. Nicole and her friends each made their own scrap books with the pictures and other arts and crafts materials. They all turned out really nice looking and will be great souveniers.
Nicole's birthday cake was a very creative dragon egg cake that Tina designed. It was made from brownies (the nest) and ice cream (the egg). It was actually hollow with a dragon inside to be discovered when cut open. There was even an outer "shell" of chocolate.
Nicole's 13 year height=64" (5' 4"), weight=123 lbs.
