Nicole's school had an open house last night. She's doing well in all her classes, but math is her biggest challenge. Her teacher says she will sometimes pull out a book during class (unfortunately not an unusual action), but is amazed that Nicole can still answer her questions if called on while she's reading.
Her language arts class is easy for her because she's such a good reader, but her class is a challenge because there are only 4 of 5 students that really want to learn. The others are quite a disruption and it really frustrates Nicole. Her teacher had nothing but good things to say about Nicole. She said Nicole has a lot of self confidence and doesn't care too much about what others think or say about her. There's another girl in class that's really having a hard time and is picked on by the other kids. Nicole has befriended her and the teacher says that's the best thing that could have happened for that girl.
