We requested that Nicole be considered for entry in the STEM program when she submitted her schedule request for her first year of high school. Yesterday (3/27/2008) we got a letter saying she's been accepted. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. It is a program that emphasizes the study of those subjects and is more rigorous than the standard classes. Class sizes are smaller and the teachers appear to be higher end as well.
